My first borzoi, Sergej. He came to our family in 1984 when I was 10 years old and we grew up together. Sergej was a big character. Very charismatic, substantial, strong, self-confident and quite dominant boy.
I started showing Sergej when I was 11 years old, just for curiosity. Years went by, Sergej became fully matured, we both got some experince in the ring and as a result - for our big surprise - Sergej became one of the most successful show borzois in Finland in late 80's and early 90's. He got several Group wins and Best In Show placements, and later also Best In Show Veteran wins and placements. The highlight of his show career was Best In Show win in the biggest dog show in Finland in late 80's with over 3000 dogs.
Sergej sired one litter in 1988, Hatsina C-litter. The dam was a gorgeous import from UK, Fin Ch. Colhugh Cinatasha. White and red boy, Czardas, was our pick from this litter.

Like I hoped when I saw Vito's pedigree the first time, he started to look more and
more "the English type" as he matured. Vito was a great mover with
excellent reach and clear coming and going. The absolutely
great temperament and wonderful movement are some things he also left to
his offspring in three different kennels in Finland and Sweden. Vito's
descendants can be found nowadays in Scandinavia, UK, Central
Europe and Japan.

Czardas
was our pick from Sergej's only litter. Czaradas was a "flower child",
who sweared for peace, love and happiness whole his life. He was a very
athletic and fast boy, but didn't really care about chasing things.Czardas
was very promissing puppy who showed excellent movement in young age,
but he hurt his leg in less than one year of age. Even though he loved
show rings, he was showed very rarely as the leg was bothering him a bit
every now and then. Czardas got his only CAC from veteran class at 7
years of age, Czardas was so happy to be in the center of attention in the ring and we were of course very proud of him.. :)
Czardas
graced our lifes for 12 years. He was the most lovable companion and he
seemed to be reading our minds in older age. When Czardas left this
world peacefully during his sleep, the whole house felt so empty even
though we had other dogs as well that time (parson russell terrier & dobermann). I started looking for a new borzoi puppy, which I hoped would also bring some new blood to Finnish borzoi scene.

In
2001 I went to visit Elisabet Jonsson to kennel Lynx in Sweden. My
first intention was to see a Bengali tiger cub who was living in her
home, but she also got a borzoi litter at the same time. I had started
to look for a new puppy already a year before and Elisabet's very
promissing looking pups stole my intrest immediately. When I saw their
pedigree, I knew immediately that my searching had come to the end. Those
lines of GB Ch. Rothesby Saker combined with Leicro's lines was
something that I was hoping to find one day and yes, that Lynx Spirit -litter was
excatly what I was looking for. :)
Vito was a loving, kind and very social boy and he made friends where ever he went.
He was great with kids and our daughter Stella grew up enjoying Vito's kind care.

- (checked by cardiologist using ultrasound + ekg)
